Attention Parents: we are already halfway through the month of July!
Before you know it you will be shopping for school supplies and dropping your kids off at their first day of school. To make your life easier, we’ve come up with some tips to help keep yourself and your kids organized for a successful school year.
The first step is to combat the entrance. When you walk through the door, the first thing you want to do is kick off your shoes and drop your bag. A great way to avoid a mess is to have a small storage table and some wall racks for jackets and backpacks.
The kitchen is the first stop made for some delicious after school snacks. Instead of fighting a battle with never ending clutter and messes, try to create bins for snacks in your pantry and drawers, as well as organizing your refrigerator for easier access for everyone. The last thing you want to do in the morning rush is to look for something!
If only homework time looked this peaceful! To make it easier for the whole family, find an area to claim as a work space. This way, there will be minimal distraction with the reward of being able to leave the room when their done. Keep a bin of pencils, crayons, markers, extra paper, etc. for convenience.
Laundry. No one enjoys picking up dirty clothes off of the floor! Make it easier on yourself and invest in some unique laundry baskets for each person. This way they can keep them in their rooms for easy clean up and you know which one belongs to who!
Lastly, have a routine! Keeping things organized will be much smoother if you have a daily schedule to follow. Not to mention, being ready to go the next day.
