With the leaves changing color, the sun setting earlier, and the colder months rolling in, it is easy to get into a winter funk. With no important Holidays to fill your homes with decorations for just yet, we have come up with some ideas to spruce up your home for a happier you.
If you are feeling extra inspired, you can give your home some new life by painting. A fresh new coat of paint can easily make you feel better about that outdated room in your home. This Fall, we are all about light and dark neutrals. Nudes, Rosy Pinks, Deep Blues, Light & Dark Beige and Grays are all absolutely beautiful colors to paint any room. Your guests around the holidays will be pleasantly surprised by the updates!
If you missed Spring cleaning this past year, make up for it now! Give your home a full shakedown. Cleaning messes to begin with should leave you feeling inspired…but go the extra mile and start to declutter. This will make it easier for you to maintain, as well as give you more opportunity for room arrangements and decorations in the upcoming months.
Bring the Outdoors In
After all of your cleaning- the last thing you want to do is add the clutter back in! Keep the decorating to a minimum if you must. A great idea would be to decorate your mantel with some fall foliage- leaf and branch decor, etc. If you don’t have a mantel you could create one by buying a shelf and some molding. How simple is that!
With it getting darker out sooner, the last thing we want are big, bright lights. Invest in some candles and rearrange some lamps to get the most out of them. Tip: Buy some seasonal scented candles for an additional pick-me-up.
Layers and More Layers
Whether it be your bedding arrangement, your couch, or your favorite comfy chair, keep plenty of blankets and pillows around for extra layers. Comfort and warmth are most important during these months.
